Life’s Questions

It has become commonplace to Google the answer for any question we might have.

There are however, many questions in life that Google, Facebook, or any other person can’t fully answer.

Questions such as: How did I get here? Why am I here? What is the meaning of Life? Where am I going after I die? If there really was a God, why is there so much suffering? Is there any hope for me and my situation?  Does anyone love and care about me?

These are just a few of Life’s Common Questions. The Bible has the answer. Jesus Christ wants to help us with all of our problems.

Is there really a God out there?

If there really is a God who loves us, then why is there so much suffering in the World?

God originally created this world perfect – without sickness, without death, without natural disasters, without violence, and without any other evil.

God originally designed man to live forever and in perfect peace, harmony, and joy.

Man however, rejected God’s way and sin entered into the world. God previously warned man that sinful actions bring death and destruction – But man chose to sin anyway.

God has a way to fix all these issues – but we must go God’s way. Jesus came to die for the sins of mankind, Jesus resurrected from the dead and thus conquered the power of sin, death, and Satan.

Believing on Jesus Christ is the only way to fully live this life as God intended and to enjoy eternal life in the future.

Eternity with God in Heaven will be an existence without pain, suffering, death, disease, problems, and etc.

How did I get here? How did this world come into existence?

We understand that we were born to our parents, but how did humanity really start? Did we evolve from a lower life form, primates? Or, were we made in the image of God?

The true answer to these questions has a profound effect on the meaning of our life, the way we live our life, if there is life after death, and so on. So many of life’s questions can actually be answered once we find the answer to this most pressing question.

The Bible explains in great detail the origins of mankind, the earth, and all of the natural world. An account of God’s creation is found in Genesis 1-3

How Did I Get Here?

How did we come into existence?

Many people have tried to answer this question apart from the answer that the Bible gives. They say that we have evolved from a lower life source. Or, there are other answers that are given.

These answers take away any responsibility we have to answer to a higher power/authority. But, that also takes away any help that we may get when situations are out of our control.

The true answer is that there is a higher power and that is the God of the Bible. He created us in His image. We have been created higher than the animals and the plant kingdoms. We have been created with the ability to think, reason, communicate with each other but, more importantly with God.

God wants a relationship with each of us individually. He us to worship Him. He wants to guide us, help us, love us, provide for us, and so many other things.

Genesis 1:26-28  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Isaiah 45:11-12  Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

Psa 139:13-14  For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

How did I get into this situation?

We all find ourselves in situations, problems, and difficulties that cause us to question, doubt, feel anxiety, and various other emotions.

We often seriously don’t know what has led to us being where we are. Other times we know what has led us to where we are- but don’t know how to solve the situation.

Sometimes it is what others have done to us that has led us to our current situation. Other times it is a result of our own choices and mistakes that we are where we are. Then, there are times that we are simply dealing with the struggles and difficulties of life.

No matter the reason for our problems, we can take comfort in the fact that God has the answer and wants to help. While we may not have the exact solution to our immediate difficulty- Our Creator has the exact answer and solution. God knows how to guide us through so that we come through the problem.

1 Peter 5:6-7  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

2 Corithians 1:3-4  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Psalm 34:17-19  The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

God wants us to call out to Him. Seek Him for help through prayer. He want us to seek His Word the Bible for answers.

We need to humble ourselves enough to go to Him and admit we need help. We need to realize that His way is the best way.

He will not cast us away. There is no problem that is too small or too big for God. He cares about all that we care about.

Where am I going?

The Bible explains that there is life after death. Once this life is finished – we will either spend our eternity in a place called Heaven or a place called Hell.

Hell was originally designed for the Devil and his demons. Christ rejecters, however, will sadly be sentenced there for eternity.

Heaven is reserved for those who believe on Jesus Christ as their only way of salvation. No amount of good works, religious deeds, or being kind will earn a place in Heaven. Reservations are made by believing ON CHRIST ALONE- ADMITTING OUR SIN AND NEED OF JESUS TO FORGIVE US – AND ASKING FOR SALVATION!

WHAT IS THE MEANING AND PURPOSE OF LIFE?

IS THERE MORE TO LIFE THAN GOING TO WORK, PAYING THE BILLS, AND SURVIVING UNTIL THE WEEKEND…JUST TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN?

While working, paying bills, and other duties are necessary parts of life – God has a plan and purpose for your life that is unique to you! God knows your name and knows all about your individual situation. He wants to have a personal relationship with you.

God wants you to know the joy of following Him. God wants you to have the peace and contentment that only comes with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God created you with a place in your heart that only He can fill. People try to fill that void with entertainment, relationships, career, ambition, habits and vices, money, fun, and countless other things – but these things will never bring the peace, joy, satisfaction, purpose, and hope that Christ is meant to and will bring!

Why am I here?

Many people are on a frantic search for something that will fill a void that is present in their heart. Many things are tried: making money, climbing the corporate ladder, entertainment, friends and relationships. alcohol, drugs, shopping, and many other things.

While these things may bring temporary happiness, they often leave one feeling emptier than before. The question is asked- Why am I here? If I am so unhappy, then what is the point of life? Everything I have tried to find joy, peace, purpose, and meaning has failed- Why am I here?

Most people live for the weekend. They go through life doing the same thing every day. Get up, go to work, come home, watch some TV, and then go to bed. This is done day after day, week after week, month after month.

These mundane tasks can leave one feeling- Why am I here? I work hard for a little money, to pay for my housing, to pay for my food and really get nothing more out of life-Why am I here?

In the Biblical book of Ecclesiastes- the second wisest man ever to have live after Jesus Christ- went on a search for the meaning of life and an answer to why I am here? In his conclusion

Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

We all have questions: Why am I here? How did I get here? Where am I going after death? And many others. Jesus Christ can provide you with answers to many of these important questions. The Bible records Jesus Christ’s (who is God) answers to these many questions.

How did I get here? God created you. God has a plan and purpose for your life.    Consider the following Bible verses:    Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Psalm 139:13-17 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  (The title Word is another name for Jesus Christ)

While many have conjectured that we are constantly evolving into something more and more educated and elevated–if we are honest, this is not really in agreement with reality. While we do have many advances in technology, medicine, and other fields–we are really no different than our ancestors when it comes to many areas of life. We still struggle with sickness, death, relationship issues, and other common human problems. This was not always the reality. [Consider Reading Genesis 1-3 in the Bible] God created the first man (Adam) and woman (Eve) totally perfect (without sin, without sickness, without any imperfections). However, all of this changed because of their decision to not obey one single law of God. God told them that they would physically and spiritually die if they sinned against God.

Consider the following Bible verses: Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 5:19a For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;

The Bible tells us that we as humans are different from the animal and plant kingdom. We are different because we are created in the image of Almighty God. We were created for the purpose of fellowship, communication, and worship of God. We were created to enjoy a close friendship with God. However, when sin was committed then death came. Adam and Eve began to physically die on that day but, they also were spiritually separated from God on that day. Their sin separated them from God.

Why am I here? To fulfil God’s unique and special purpose that He created you for. The most important part of that purpose is to know God and establish a relationship with Him. This can only happen when you and I understand our sinful condition and believe on Jesus Christ to forgive that sin.

To bring honor and praise to God your Creator. To help others know and experience true joy, peace, and fulfillment only found in knowing God and having a close relationship with Him.

Where am I going after death? Is there life after death? These are very important questions. This all depends on your trust and belief regarding what God says in His Word. According to the Bible, people will go to one of two places Heaven or Hell when they die.

Hell–Was originally created for the Devil and his demons. However, it is also the future home of all people who reject the mercy, forgiveness, and love of God. God is love. God is forgiving. God is merciful. But God is also Holy, Righteous, and Without Sin. God loves people but, He hates our sinful actions. Sinful actions demand punishment. God says that punishment is eternal death in hell. Jesus Christ, who is God made the choice to pay that punishment for us. He died in our place–He was our substitute. Our sin was placed on His record and He suffered Hell on the Cross in our place.

Now when People reject Bible truth, when they don’t believe that Jesus is God, when they don’t believe Jesus died on the cross for them, when they don’t believe Jesus is the only way. They are guilty of rejecting God’s offer of Forgiveness. When people trust their own efforts, their own religious actions, their own good life, or any other person, or religion then they are guilty of not believing and trusting God’s Way. Unfortunately, these people who die will spend eternity in Hell because of their sin. Jesus Christ is the Only Way to Heaven–Do you Believe it? Do you trust Jesus Christ Alone? God is not willing that any perish in Hell; however, God will not force you to believe Him.

Consider the following Bible Verses:  Rev 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.  Rev 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Heaven–God’s desire is for all men, women, and children to spend their eternity with Him in Heaven. We have our sin that separates us from God. The sin must be removed for us to be able to come to God. What removes that sin? God says the only person that has the qualifications to remove sin is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died in our place on the cross and suffered for the sin we committed. Those who believe on Jesus Christ as their only way of salvation and forgiveness of sin, will spend eternity with Christ in a place called Heaven. We must fully trust Christ as our only hope. It is not our religious deeds, good life, some other god or goddess, or any other way that removes our sin. Those who believe that Christ is God, those who believe that Christ died on the cross for our sin, was buried, and then rose again from the dead. Those who confess their sin to Christ, Believe Him, and Ask for Forgiveness and Salvation are those who are true Believers.

Is there really a God?

Why do people suffer if there really is a God?
